Baby's First Photoshoot
All photos by Kimberly Schuldt Photography
Having my photo taken is still something totally foreign to me.
I don’t take selfies often. I’m not an Instagram influencer. For the most part, I like to document the things I see and less so myself actually seeing them. The magazine editor in me was always behind the cover photoshoots, never in front of the camera.
When I started thinking about launching this site, it was around the time that we’d purchased the Jeep Gladiator. We were the first people in our tri-county area to take delivery of one, and the process from first sight to purchase decision to delivery was swift. It wasn’t planned, more so circumstance.
When the Gladiator joined my Camaro in the garage I stood back and just stared at them. This is what my childhood dream garage would have looked like. One of them fast, faster than anything I’d driven before; the other could go anywhere, do just about anything, and could be taken apart door by door, roof in pieces, into a look-at-me convertible truck. Of course the dream would have included a half-dozen more vehicles to accompany them. Back in reality there’s responsibilities to tend do and student loans to pay off.
I wanted to document the first time I actively thought that my garage was a cool place with cars I really loved in it. So I found some inspiration photos and posted them on my Instagram Story looking for photographers who wanted to document. Kimberly Schuldt, a talented friend of mine, responded immediately.
So we picked a perfect late fall day, still warm enough for tee shirts, and headed to the back roads of the Tug Hill Plateau. One of my best friends, Nathan, tagged along as art director and we made photo magic.
The photos are exactly what I was looking for. So take a look. There are plenty more that will make their rounds on the site in due time.
